Dim Sum Love: My Journey with Din Tai Fung Taipeh 101

My love affair with dim sum began at the iconic Din Tai Fung at Taipei 101. I first visited while attending Computex and instantly fell in love with their famous Soup Dumplings—or as they call them, Xiao Long Bao. These meticulously crafted dumplings have even earned the restaurant a prestigious Michelin star in Taiwan, and after trying them, it’s easy to see why.

    A Week of Culinary Bliss

During that week in Taipei, I found myself at Din Tai Fung nearly every day for lunch, determined to explore the entire menu. Each dish was prepared with incredible attention to detail, from the perfect folding of the dumplings to the balance of flavors. Their signature Truffle Xiao Long Bao was a standout, although, sadly, it’s only available in Taiwan.

    A Global Phenomenon

Din Tai Fung’s excellence isn’t confined to Taiwan—they’ve expanded worldwide, with locations in Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, and Bangkok, all of which I’ve had the pleasure of visiting. Whenever I’m in Bangkok, it’s a must-visit for me. While each location maintains the same high standards, there’s something special about experiencing the original in Taiwan.

Why Din Tai Fung Stands Out

What truly sets Din Tai Fung apart is their unmatched organization and precision. Every restaurant operates like a well-oiled machine. Staff members are equipped with headsets to coordinate tasks, and every dish is meticulously prepared and signed off before reaching your table. The consistency and quality of their service are second to none, no matter where in the world you visit.

    Final Thoughts

Whether you’re a dim sum enthusiast or a first-timer, Din Tai Fung is an experience not to be missed. From their famous Soup Dumplings to their unparalleled organization, it’s no wonder they’ve become a global favorite. I’ll definitely be creating reviews of their other locations soon—stay tuned!

To honor this we create the Xiao Long Bao shirt.
