Magari Pizza in Stockholm: A Mixed Culinary Experience
With a stellar 4.9 rating from over 100 reviews on Google, Magari Pizza in Stockholm was calling my name. As a pizza lover, I had to see what all the buzz was about. The result, however, turned out to be a mix of highs and lows.
The Meal
-
Starter: Burrata with Tomatoes
The burrata itself was fresh and creamy, but the presentation left room for improvement. It was served with a crispbread topped with tomatoes. While the flavors were decent, I couldn’t help but think that, with a pizza oven at their disposal, they could have served warm, fresh pizza rolls instead of what seemed like store-bought croissants. -
Pizza: Neapolitan with Anchovies
This is where Magari truly shines. The pizza was excellent, with a fluffy crust, perfect dough, and flavorful toppings. The anchovies added just the right amount of salty punch, making this a true Neapolitan delight. Based on the pizza alone, the restaurant easily deserves 5 stars. -
Dessert: Cannoli
Unfortunately, the dessert didn’t live up to the high bar set by the pizza. The deep-fried rolls were overly greasy, and the cream filling lacked the richness and flavor I was expecting. It felt more like an afterthought than a highlight of the meal.
Final Thoughts
Magari Pizza excels at what it’s named for—pizza. The Neapolitan-style pies are some of the best I’ve had, and I’d return for those alone. However, the starters and desserts leave much to be desired, dragging the overall experience down slightly. If you’re in Stockholm and craving top-notch pizza, Magari is definitely worth a visit, but you might want to skip the extras.
